 Nelson R. Diers, DDS, MDS has been practicing Orthodontics for forty years!
Dr. Diers has been practicing Orthodontics for over 45 years! He offers a full range of specialty treatments including Preventive Care and Growth Guidance for ages 3 years and older, Orthodontics for Adults & Children, Accelerated Orthodontic Treatment [PAOO], Surgical Orthodontics, Invisalign, TMJ Therapy, and Dental Sleep Therapy.
He is a Board Certified Orthodontic Specialist with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University and Master of Science degree in Dentistry from Indiana University. Dr. Diers is a current member of the Orthodontic Faculty at Indiana University and has served as a faculty member at the Medical College of Georgia’s Department of Orthodontics and in the Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center’s Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program.
Dr. Diers is the founder and President of the Greater Cincinnati Interdisciplinary Sleep Society and is a certified instructor for the Ohio State Dental Board. He is a Design Advisor for Orthodontic Materials and a Scientific Evaluator for the American Journal of Orthodontics.
Dr. Diers holds memberships with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Association of Orthodontists and is a Diplomate for the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a member of the Cincinnati Dental Society, the Ohio Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of The Schulman Study Group, an association of nationally prominent orthodontic practices selected from the top 1% of all offices in the country.
Dr. Diers holds two United States Patents. His patent on the Golden Proportions is used in determining the ideal aesthetic and functional arch forms in relation to tooth size and position. In addition, his patented sleep appliance is used to enhance sleep quality and to facilitate the correction of sleep disorders while also pursuing orthodontic structural correction of the problem.
He is the Orthodontic Consultant for the Southwest Ohio Study Club, affiliated with the nationally recognized Seattle Study Club, whose mission is to enhance interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of complex medical-dental problems.
He has previously served as President of the Keely Dental Society, President of the Ohio Valley Orthodontic Society, President of the Greater Cincinnati Dental Study Group and as the Orthodontic Consultant on the Clinical Quality Assurance Board for Dental Care Plus.
Dr. Diers served in The United States Navy as a Dentist, assigned to the Marine Amphibious Brigade, during the Vietnam War. He has been married for over 50 years and has three grown children, 4 grandchildren and a beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Wallace! In his free time, Dr. Diers enjoys Cincinnati sports, playing tennis and golf, and spending time with his grandchildren. |
