Did you know Dr. Diers has been practicing orthodontics for 40 years? Dr. Diers is Board Certified, which represents only a small percentage of orthodontists. His staff is experienced & caring. They hold training and certification that goes above and beyond what you will find at many other orthodontic offices. Dr. Diers employs three Expanded Functions Dental Assistants who are committed to providing you with the best care available. Specialities
Dr. Diers is a leader in Sleep Apnea and Sleep Disturbances in the dental field. In addition to Orthodontics and TMJ Treatment, Dr. Diers offers Dental Sleep Therapy which aids in opening the airway for an improved quality of sleep. Appliances are used to increase the level of oxygen intake which positively effects blood oxygen saturation levels in the body. Patients report an overall feeling of wellness and increased energy throughout the day. Dental Sleep Therapy can be used to treat some forms of Sleep Apnea, even allowing some patients to discontinue use of their CPAP machine under the direction of their Sleep Medicine Specialist.
As a TMJ Specialist, Dr. Diers examines the jaw joints at the initial visit for potential dysfunction in all of our patients. This approach sets us a part from many other orthodontists who practice without a specialty in TMJ disorders.
Dr. Diers understands that teeth are an integral part of maximizing health for Adults and Children. Not only will he give you a beautiful smile, if that is what you desire, but he offers a holistic approach to your care. He uses the most advanced methods to bring your teeth, gums, facial bones, jaw joints and muscles into harmony to help you look and feel your best!
In evaluating the entire system, the teeth and smile are harmonized with the proper facial balance, resulting in more than just straight teeth but an overall improvement in aesthetics, sleep, TMJ function, and wellness for your entire body. Because of this holistic approach, we rarely recommend that teeth be extracted. Tooth extraction often has a negative impact on the entire facial appearance and compromises the airway and jaw joints.
Because Dr. Diers is committed to optimized health for his patients, he often evaluates children as young as 3 years old. Early Interceptive Treatment allows for appropriate intervention when necessary to influence problems such as speech and learning difficulties, anxiety, ADD and ADHD. He is committed to an interdisciplinary approach to patient care and often works closely with medical professionals such as Pediatricians, Primary Care Physicians, Sleep Medicine Specialists, Behavioral Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Chiropractors, Craniosacral Therapists and Ear Nose and Throat Specialists.
Dr. Diers is the only orthodontist in the area who performs WilckodonticsTM, or AOOTM. This is an optional procedure that allows patients to reduce their treatment time by many months. It is also referred to as Accelerated Orthodontics, as patients can complete treatment in a fraction of the time without compromise.
Innovation
Dr. Diers utilizes an i-CAT 3D imaging machine. This machine takes a 9 second scan that allows for optimal diagnosis far beyond what a traditional 2 dimensional x-ray can provide. One single scan produces all necessary images including tomograms for TMJ patients and a 3D view of the patient’s airway that can be used for volume rendering. Our office offers the Damon Bracket System which is the best on the market for patient comfort and treatment time. It is the gold standard when it comes to quality and speed of orthodontic care. Invisalign® is available for those patients seeking a nearly invisible option for straightening their teeth. Dr. Diers also offers a clear alternative to metal braces in the form of ceramic braces. We offer three office locations for your convenience located in Fairfield, Cincinnati and West Chester. One office may be close to your home, and another may be closer to your work! Patients are welcome to go to any office, at anytime throughout their treatment.
Our in-house lab allows for quick, efficient, and expertly constructed appliances that meet Dr. Diers' exact specifications. This physical proximity allows him to work closely with his Lab Technicians, giving him maximum control on the design process. This also allows us to deliver your appliance quickly, unlike other offices that send their work to an outside lab.
There will always someone available when you need help! Dr. Diers or a Clinical Staff Member is dedicated to being available after hours should you ever have a need for emergency orthodontic care.
Dr. Diers knows the importance of smile maintenance! Our office offers a robust Retention Program after treatment is complete to ensure your results lasts a lifetime. We provide glued in or removable retainers as well as a Tooth Positioner for all of our braces patients. The Tooth Positioner provides additional support above and beyond what many other offices provide to help maintain the bite and airway after treatment is completed. When worn as instructed, it ensures that your arch forms remain broad, your bite remains even, your airway remains open and the functional stability of your jaw joints is maintained for years to come.
